I recently read an article that said actress Emma Stone was criticized because of her hair in the movie ''The Help.'' Emma Stone's character fashioned tight, ringlet curls. The article quoted from another online magazine: “Emma Stone’s wig in ‘The Help’ had her looking as if she had her hand in an electrical socket, not in the rewriting of history.”
I want to know why, seemingly, in any industry that has public attention (music, acting, fashion, modelling), naturally curly hair is forbidden.
Seriously.
I have been exploring the internet trying to find ''celebrities'' (even though that word - and the connotations that follow with that word - annoy me) with frizzy locks, but I can't seen to find any females, and even then, men are kinda limited too.
If a celeb is seen with curly/wavy hair, it is usually been styled to perfection with product and curling irons, and no frizz in sight.
But why? Is it seen unattractive, immature, childlike?
I personally think curls are the most beautiful things ever. I mean, it's hair that forms shapes all by it's self. it just forms as a curl! How awesome!
And if you think about the people you know that have a natural curl/wave in your life, that's a LOT. I know so many. So, there must be celebrities with naturally curly hair, too, right?
Right. So those celebrities have to have their styled to perfection ALL the time just so their hair doesn't look naturally curly/wavy? How utterly nonsensical.
I think it's about time the industry recognizes naturally curly hair as a good thing. I, Lucy Howell, hearby pledge to accept my messy frizz as a part of who I am. I mean I'm not famous, but even if I was, I would stick by this pledge. All succumb to the power of frizz! Hurrah! Frizz fantastic, accept your frizz today!
I didn't even think her hair looked frizzy or as if 'her hand had been stuck in an electrical socket', I actually remember commenting to my sister when we first seen the film how beautiful her hair looked and how much she suited the change. I'm sure some people just criticise for the sake of it, rather than the fact there's something to actually critise. :/

definitely! Especially considering how heartfelt and beautiful The Help is, focusing on something as trivial as hair style is just obscene. I adored her hair too! xx
